As a leader in medical communications, ApotheCom is deeply committed to upholding ethical and transparent publication practices. Matt Booth, EVP, Transformation and Client Partnerships and Claudia Piano, EVP, Client Services, play key roles in driving our dedication to promoting integrity in the communication of scientific research. This commitment is reflected in the comprehensive training and industry partnerships that guide our approach. Together, they ensure that our team remains at the forefront of industry standards.

Ensuring Adherence to Good Publication Practices

At ApotheCom, we prioritize ongoing education for our medical writers, ensuring they are fully trained on the latest publication standards. By adhering to the GPP 2022 guidelines and the ICMJE framework, we ensure that our publication processes not only comply with the highest ethical standards but also contribute to the credibility and transparency of scientific communication. These guidelines serve as the foundation for our client’s publication policies, guiding our efforts to maintain the integrity of every publication we work on.

Engagement with ISMPP

ApotheCom is actively involved with the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP), reinforcing our commitment to transparency and ethical publication practices. Our team participates in, and leads, numerous ISMPP activities, ensuring that we’re pivotal and instrumental in the evolution of the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in the medical publication industry. As a Platinum level sponsor of ISMPP, ApotheCom plays a key role in supporting the organization’s efforts to advance standards and foster responsible publication practices across the industry.

Supporting Certification for Medical Publication Professionals (CMPP™)

We take pride in supporting our staff in their professional development, particularly in obtaining and maintaining the Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP™) credential. ApotheCom offers financial reimbursement for CMPP™ membership fees and exam costs, as well as providing time off for exam preparation and study. We also organize study groups and pair staff members with mentors to help them succeed. By encouraging certification, we ensure that our team members possess the necessary expertise to navigate the complexities of ethical publication practices.

Contributing to ISMPP’s Thought Leadership

ApotheCom’s involvement with ISMPP goes beyond sponsorship and certification support. We actively contribute to the organization’s thought leadership by submitting original research and presenting at ISMPP meetings. Our team has shared insights on a wide range of topics, including pre-print servers, linguistic analysis, and AI applications in medical publications. At both the EU and Annual Meetings, ApotheCom has delivered presentations on evidence generation, AI, and precision medicine, further advancing the conversation on these important issues.

Presenting and Publishing Research

Our contributions extend to presenting research at ISMPP’s Annual and EU Meetings, where we have offered valuable insights on topics such as digital therapeutics, AI in social listening and literature monitoring, publication strategies for biotech, and collaborations with patient advocacy groups. ApotheCom’s leadership team has also co-authored articles for the ISMPP MAP newsletter, sharing our expertise with the wider medical publication community. Additionally, our CMPP™ community regularly collaborates on original research projects that we aim to present at future ISMPP conferences.

Collaborating Across Inizio Medical

As part of Inizio Medical, ApotheCom also works closely with sister agencies to provide valuable insights at industry events. Through these collaborations, we deliver reports that summarize key takeaways from ISMPP meetings and their impact on our clients, ensuring that clients who are unable to attend can still benefit from the latest developments. These insights, shared via LinkedIn and email, have received positive feedback from clients seeking to stay informed.

Looking Ahead

As ISMPP continues to evolve, so will ApotheCom’s commitment to supporting its efforts. We look forward to the ongoing development of ethical publication practices and the new opportunities that will emerge in the coming years. Our involvement with ISMPP will remain a cornerstone of our approach, ensuring that we continue to provide the highest level of service to our clients while promoting transparency and integrity in medical publications.

By maintaining this commitment, ApotheCom is poised to navigate the future of medical communications with confidence, ensuring that we uphold the highest ethical standards in all that we do.
